Wifi Browser for GoPro App Reviews

I can’t download even one movie with this thing. The app keeping closing, and when I manage to download one file, that file is always corrupted. Have been days working hard to make that app usable, don’t waste your money guys...

I have 2 main complaints with this app: 1. Version 1.62 (current at the time of writing) doesnt allow me to delete files over wifi. It says they have been deleted, but when I refresh, they all appear again. 2. Loading preview images can take a long time, when really all you want to do is start downloading the images. This could be solved with a simple text list view instead of always needing to download hundreds of preview images over the GoPros slow wifi. Other than those 2 main complaints, this app does what it should. It’s slow to download, but thats because of the GoPros slow wifi network.

Very difficult to view videos…videos are very grainy and the connection to camera is lousy! Don’t waste your money…(wish I could get my money back!)

Could not get this app to connect to a GoPro Hero 3 White camera, although the Mac could see the cameras wi-fi node. The GoPro app could see and connect to the camera, so the problem appears to be with this app. Contacted the app creators support email address and they responded quickly with a few things to try, but a second message saying those suggestions did not help went unanswered. It should be noted that even if this app can see the camera, it apparently is not possible to have a Mac connected to it and to the Internet at the same time. Thus, this app does not offer a way to move photos from the camera to a web site, stream a view, or anything like that. (This is not to imply the app says it does this and fails in that regard, just that its not a solution for someone wanting to do that.)

Pulling the Micro SD card out of the camera can be a pain, and hooking the camera up via usb can also be an annoyance. With this application, not only is it simple to get connected, executing the various actions provided within the software is a piece of cake as well! I’ve yet to encounter any issues with the application and look forward to continuous use this app. Thanks!

You took my money for this? I thought maybe the new version would work. No. Just errors when reading media card. You should send subscribers a working copy when you get it right.

Save your money and time and do not buy this app, I would give it no stars if I could

I should have read the reviews before buying this app… It keeps giving me an error that it can’t read any of my GoPro footage. I reccomend just hooking up your GoPro via a USB if you want to download your footage directly to your computer, or use an adapter for turning a micro SD to a SD.

Im not sure how everyone else had issues with this app. I almost didnt buy cause of the reviews but I am glad I did! I just connected computer to my Go-pros wifi first, then opened up the app and it immediately pulled up all of the photos that were on the Go-Pro. Super easy to use and made my achitectual timelapse over a few months SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much easier! Highly recommend.

I dont understand the reason why there are so many negative reviews. I downloaded the app, connected thru to the wifi on my Mac, opened the app and it detected the camera right away. I also got to download all my videos into a folder that the app created under the Pictures/ Folder. So much better than trying to get my videos thru my SD card or thru my iPhone.

I understand what this app is trying to do, but it’s not quite ready… I have a MBPR running Yosemite and the app will connect to my camera, and I see it downloading the previews, but they do not show up on the screen. If it worked properly it would be a great benefit. I’m worried about wear and tear on my GoPro housing and the SD card itself if I am constantly opening / closing and removing and inserting the card. This app would allow me to eliminate that. As a shortcut, if you want, you can also download GoPro videos from the Hero 4 (and maybe 3) by connecting your Mac to the camera’s wifi and navigating to 10.5.5.9:8080. This will directly connect you to the GoPro internal web server and you can download files from there, but all you see is filenames… so this app would be a much better option if it worked. Please re-test and update this app as soon as possible. Thanks

This app does not work fully. It does not show the videos in the space where they should appear. It looks like it connects to the camera, and seems to be able to count the number of videos on the camera, but they do not show up on my iMac screen. Where is Apples quality control on this store?

The app does not download or load the videos from any GoPro camera. Wait for GoPro to make an official app!

I did not read the reviews before I bought this app…I was in a hurry and that is my fault. That said, this app does work as advertised. I wanted to preview videos my son shot and the app counts them like it knows they are there but they don’t show up, only the pics do. Maybe I am doing somethin wrong and am open to suggestions otherwise this thing is useless. Apple needs to step in and remove this app and refund people their money.

Doesn’t work. Consistent with the other reviews, I found the camera seems to connect but won’t display the video. I just don’t understand why Apple is allowing vendors to rob people.

I took the plunge and bought the app. I connected to the gopro wifi and it worked! took about 30 seconds to populate the window, but the interface is great and it works!!!

Took the risk and downloaded it. Works just fine! At first I was a little worried because I couldn’t login to GoPro’s wifi on my iMac with the default password provided above, but that is not this app’s fault. In order to login you will have to enter the password you created and luckily I guessed it right. So if you can’t remember or figure out your GoPro’s password, I would not buy this. Other than that, the video downloaded right away and was good to go. Two things to be aware of: there is no internet connection when you are connected and the videos are somewhat, annoyingly, played in a seperate window.

The best $3.99 ever spent. I needed to go Wifi from my new Hero3 white to my old Macbook. Took a total of 5 minutes from finding the app to synching with the go pro.

How do I get my money back for a completely useless app? I put my camera into wifi mode and connected my computer to it’s wifi and all I got was error after error no matter how I configured it’s settings. I got the same thing with a direct connection to the USB port. Do not buy this app.

I took a chance and downloaded the program and it failed badly, it will not download videos so i spent money for nothing!!!!!!
